Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 5 October 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of The Flower Farmer Magazine website and any purchases, subscriptions or other transactions made through it.
Please read these Terms carefully before placing an order. By placing an order through our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. About Us
The website is operated by:
The Flower Farmer Magazine
105 St Andrews Road, Worthing BN13 1HR, United Kingdom
Email: info@theflowerfarmermagazine.co.uk
If you have any questions about these Terms, an order or a subscription, please contact us using the email address above.
2. Our Magazine
The Flower Farmer Magazine is a printed quarterly magazine.
Our anticipated publication schedule is approximately:
- Issue 1: early March
- Issue 2: early June
- Issue 3: early September
- Issue 4: early December
Publication dates are estimates rather than guaranteed dates.
Printing, production, postal disruption or circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally cause publication or dispatch dates to change.
Orders will be dispatched as soon as reasonably possible after the relevant printed magazine has been received by us from the printer.
3. Placing an Order
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the product or subscription shown in your order.
You must provide complete and accurate information when ordering, including your name, billing details, email address and delivery address.
After placing an order, you will normally receive an electronic order confirmation.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where, for example:
the product is unavailable; there has been an obvious pricing or description error; payment cannot be authorised; we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse; or we are unable to deliver to the address provided.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount due to you.
4. Prices
Prices are displayed on the website in the currency shown at checkout.
UK postage is included in our advertised magazine and subscription prices unless clearly stated otherwise.
International delivery charges are additional and will be displayed as part of the checkout process.
We may change our prices from time to time. A price change will not affect an order that has already been accepted, except where an obvious pricing error has occurred.
5. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available through our website.
Our online store is operated using Shopify and payments may be processed through Shopify Payments or another payment provider offered at checkout.
By providing payment information, you confirm that you are authorised to use the relevant payment method.
For subscriptions involving recurring payments, you authorise the appropriate payment provider to collect future subscription payments in accordance with the frequency, price and terms displayed to you before purchase.
6. Magazine Subscriptions
Different subscription options may be available from time to time.
Before you purchase, the product page and checkout will specify important information including:
the subscription price, the number of issues or duration where applicable, how frequently payments are taken, whether the subscription ends automatically or continues until cancelled, and any applicable delivery charges.
Fixed-Term Subscriptions
Where a subscription is stated to run for a defined number of issues or a defined period and to end automatically, it will end once that subscription period has been completed unless you purchase a new subscription.
Ongoing Subscriptions
Where a subscription is described as ongoing or recurring, payments will continue at the frequency stated when you subscribed until the subscription is cancelled.
You may cancel an ongoing subscription in accordance with the cancellation options made available through your customer/subscription account or by contacting:
info@theflowerfarmermagazine.co.uk
Cancelling an ongoing subscription prevents future charges after the cancellation takes effect. It does not automatically create a right to a refund for an issue that has already been processed or dispatched, except where you have a statutory right to a refund.
We will always honour any additional cancellation rights required by applicable consumer law.
7. UK Delivery
UK orders are normally sent using Royal Mail.
Once dispatched, UK orders would normally be expected to arrive within approximately 2–3 working days.
This delivery period begins from dispatch, not necessarily from the date the order is placed.
If you are ordering an upcoming issue before it has been printed, your magazine will be dispatched after that issue has been printed and received by us.
Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by postal delays, public holidays, severe weather, industrial action and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
8. International Delivery
The Flower Farmer Magazine can be delivered to international destinations using trusted postal and courier services.
Delivery charges vary according to destination and will be displayed before you complete your purchase.
International delivery times vary depending on the destination, postal network, courier and customs processing.
9. International Taxes, Duties and Customs Charges
For international orders, any applicable taxes, customs duties or import charges that we collect will be paid by the customer as part of the total price before the order is shipped.
Where applicable, these amounts will be calculated as part of the ordering or payment process.
Our intention is therefore to collect applicable duties and taxes before dispatch rather than requiring the customer to make an unexpected payment when the magazine arrives.
Customs and tax requirements vary between countries and may change from time to time.
10. UK Consumer Cancellation Rights
Customers purchasing online in the UK have rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Individual Magazine Purchases
The statutory cooling-off right does not apply to the supply of an individual newspaper, periodical or magazine.
Accordingly, once an individual magazine has been purchased, you do not have a statutory right to return it simply because you have changed your mind.
This does not affect your rights if a magazine is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described. Legislation.gov.uk
If an individual magazine or pre-order has not yet entered fulfilment or been dispatched, you are welcome to contact us at info@theflowerfarmermagazine.co.uk and we will advise whether the order can still be cancelled.
Magazine Subscriptions
The exception for individual magazines does not apply to subscription contracts.
For a subscription involving regular delivery of physical magazines, the statutory cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you receive the first magazine supplied under the subscription. Legislation.gov.uk
You do not need to give us a reason for exercising this statutory cancellation right.
To exercise it, contact:
info@theflowerfarmermagazine.co.uk
before the cancellation period expires.
11. EU Consumer Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer resident in an EU country and applicable EU consumer law applies to your purchase, your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected by these Terms.
EU law generally provides a 14-day withdrawal period for distance contracts, subject to specified exceptions.
One of those exceptions is the supply of an individual newspaper, periodical or magazine. However, subscriptions for newspapers, periodicals and magazines are expressly excluded from that exception, meaning subscription contracts can carry the right of withdrawal. Eur-Lex
For a contract involving regular deliveries of physical goods, the withdrawal period runs for 14 days from when you, or a person nominated by you other than the carrier, receives the first supply. Eur-Lex
You may exercise your withdrawal right by emailing:
info@theflowerfarmermagazine.co.uk
and clearly stating that you wish to withdraw from your subscription contract.
You do not need to provide a reason.
12. Returning a Subscription Following Statutory Cancellation
Where you exercise a statutory cooling-off right and have already received the first magazine, you must return the magazine without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying us of your cancellation, unless we tell you otherwise.
Unless we agree to pay the cost, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the magazine.
This requirement to pay return postage applies only where we have informed you of it as required by law. Legislation.gov.uk
A return address will be provided when you contact us.
Please do not send returns without first contacting us.
You are entitled to handle the magazine only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish its nature and characteristics. Where legally permitted, we may make an appropriate deduction from a refund if handling has reduced the item's value beyond what would reasonably be permitted when inspecting goods. Legislation.gov.uk
13. Refunds Following Statutory Cancellation
Where you have validly exercised a statutory cancellation or withdrawal right, we will issue any refund required by applicable law.
For UK cancellation rights, where goods must be returned, we may wait until we receive the goods or you provide evidence that they have been returned, whichever occurs first.
Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless you expressly agree otherwise.
Where applicable, refunds will be processed without undue delay and within the statutory timeframe. UK rules generally require reimbursement no later than 14 days after the relevant return or evidence of return. Legislation.gov.uk
14. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Magazines
Your statutory rights relating to faulty or incorrectly supplied goods are separate from change-of-mind cancellation rights.
If a magazine:
arrives significantly damaged; is faulty; is materially not as described; or is not the issue you ordered,
please contact us at:
info@theflowerfarmermagazine.co.uk
Please provide your order number and, where appropriate, photographs showing the problem.
Where you have a legal right to a refund, replacement or other remedy, we will provide the remedy required under applicable consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms seeks to exclude or restrict those statutory rights. UK guidance confirms that businesses must provide appropriate remedies where goods are faulty, not as described or do not perform as they should. GOV.UK
15. Missing Deliveries
If your UK order has not arrived within a reasonable period after the normal 2–3 working day delivery estimate, please contact us.
International customers should allow the applicable international delivery period.
Please email:
info@theflowerfarmermagazine.co.uk
with your name, order number and delivery address so we can investigate.
16. Delivery Addresses
You are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address provided with your order is accurate and complete.
If you have a subscription and change address, please update your subscription details or contact us before the next issue is dispatched.
Once a magazine has been dispatched, we cannot guarantee that it can be redirected.
Additional postage charges may apply where an order must be sent again because an incorrect or incomplete address was supplied by the customer.
17. Data Protection and GDPR
We take the protection of your personal information seriously.
We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and, where applicable to our activities and customers, the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
The Flower Farmer Magazine acts as a data controller in relation to personal information for which we determine the purposes and means of processing. Controllers are responsible for complying with applicable data-protection principles and protecting individuals' rights. Information Commissioner's Office
Personal Information We May Process
Depending on how you interact with us, we may process information including your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses, order history, subscription details, communications, marketing preferences, IP address and technical website information.
Payment card information is normally processed securely by Shopify and/or the relevant payment provider rather than stored directly by us.
Why We Process Personal Information
Our lawful bases may include:
Contract — where processing is necessary to process an order, deliver a magazine, administer a subscription or provide customer support connected with your purchase.
Legal obligation — where processing is necessary for us to comply with applicable legal, tax, accounting or regulatory requirements.
Legitimate interests — where we have a legitimate business purpose, provided that the individual's interests, rights and freedoms do not override that interest.
Consent — where consent is the appropriate lawful basis, including for certain marketing or non-essential tracking activities.
The appropriate lawful basis depends on the particular processing activity. UK GDPR requires businesses to identify a valid lawful basis rather than relying on one basis for every type of processing. Information Commissioner's Office
Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights including:
- access to your personal information;
- correction of inaccurate information;
- erasure in appropriate circumstances;
- restriction of processing;
- data portability where applicable;
- objection to certain processing;
- objection to direct marketing; and
- withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.
These rights depend partly on the lawful basis and circumstances of the processing. Information Commissioner's Office
To exercise a data protection right, contact:
info@theflowerfarmermagazine.co.uk
Data Sharing
We may share information where necessary with organisations providing services such as Shopify ecommerce services, payment processing, magazine printing and fulfilment, Royal Mail and other postal or courier companies, website hosting, email services, analytics, accounting and professional services.
We require an appropriate lawful basis before sharing personal data and take reasonable measures to protect information entrusted to service providers. Information Commissioner's Office
International Data Transfers
Some service providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area.
Where applicable, international transfers will be made using an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or safeguard required by applicable data-protection legislation.
Further Privacy Information
Full information about how we collect, use, store and protect personal information is contained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of the information provided to users of this website.
The Privacy Policy should be read alongside these Terms and Conditions.
If you have a concern about our use of personal information, please contact us first at info@theflowerfarmermagazine.co.uk.
UK customers also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Where EU GDPR applies, individuals may also have rights to raise a complaint with the appropriate EU supervisory authority.
18. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies.
Some cookies are necessary for Shopify, checkout and other essential website functions.
Where consent is legally required for non-essential cookies, they will only be used in accordance with the choices you make through our cookie/privacy controls.

19. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, content appearing on this website and within The Flower Farmer Magazine, including text, articles, photography, illustrations, graphics, logos, branding and magazine designs, is owned by or licensed to The Flower Farmer Magazine and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Purchasing a magazine gives you ownership of the physical copy. It does not transfer copyright or other intellectual-property rights in the content.
You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, commercially exploit or create derivative works from our content without permission except where permitted by law.
20. Website Use
You must not use this website:
for unlawful or fraudulent purposes; to attempt unauthorised access to our systems; to introduce malware or harmful code; to interfere with the operation or security of the website; or in a manner that infringes the rights of another person.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, our customers or our business.
21. Product Descriptions and Images
We make reasonable efforts to ensure magazine descriptions, photographs, prices and other information displayed on our website are accurate.
Colours and appearance may vary slightly depending on photographic conditions and the device or screen used.
Minor variations that do not materially affect the nature or quality of a magazine will not constitute a defect.
22. Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Examples may include postal or courier disruption, printing or production delays, severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, transport interruption, customs delays, government action, telecommunications failures or other events that could not reasonably have been prevented.
This clause does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you may have.
23. Our Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to applicable law, we will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into or for business losses suffered by a person purchasing as a consumer.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our business, products, website, services or applicable law.
The Terms applying to a particular purchase will normally be those in force when that order was placed, except where a change is required by law.
The current version will be published on our website together with its last-updated date.
25. Governing Law and Consumer Rights
These Terms are governed by applicable law in the United Kingdom.
[Once you know exactly where the business is established, replace this with: “These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales / Scotland / Northern Ireland.”]
If you are a consumer living outside the UK, nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under the law of your country of residence.
EU customers retain any mandatory rights provided by applicable EU and national consumer legislation.
